Janine McLean
Where to start?
Janine is a born and raised farm girl, having grown up on the family farm in Patchewollock. The youngest of five children, Janine has a love of the land (and in particular her family’s patch of red dirt), but has also found a passion for working with clients to help them secure their financial futures and educate them along the way, so that they can make informed financial decisions.
Being a small business owner herself, Janine understands the hard work and determination that small business owners put into their business and also knows how important it is to be able to pass this legacy on, especially within family farming businesses.
Janine has been involved in Financial Planning since 2002 and holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and is continuing to undertake further studies to build on the practical knowledge she has obtained over the years. Through a comprehensive pathway into advising, Janine previously owned and operated her own paraplanning business for seven years, allowing her to work with a range of Financial Advisers, Australia wide, whom had a vast range of clientele requiring a diverse and comprehensive range of strategy outcomes.
By far, Janine’s heart lies with small communities and farming families and she knows the struggles these families have, not only in their day to day operations, but being able to access services within their immediate areas. That’s why Janine is also happy to come to you.
Janine has also experienced working in the Financial Planning profession internationally, having worked for three years with a boutique financial planning firm in Calgary, Canada. This not only provided her with the opportunity to work with a range of high net worth clients, but also allowed her to further expand her financial planning knowledge and to gain a greater understanding of the financial planning process.
5 non-advisory things to help you get to know Janine better
Family means the world to her (so your’s possibly will too).
Janine loves to Travel. She has lived in both Ireland and Canada and has travelled to over 23 countries and has more waiting to add to this (if only Covid would hurry up and go away). BUT by far her favourite place in the world is the place she will always call home - 324 Baring Road, Patchewollock.
She managed to secure a job internationally simply because she came from Mildura - True story! It started out as 2 weeks work and turned into three years with the most amazing company and co-workers she could have asked for.
She has previously worked for the most iconic of Irish Businesses - Guinness! And yes, at St James Gate, Dublin, home to the Guinness Brewhouse.
She has previously held (with a number of other participants) a World Record. In 2012 she was asked by a friend in Canada to participate in their record setting attempt to have the most people breaking a pine board simultaneously in a single venue. On April 14, 2012 as part of the Ohsuka Amateur Karate Foundation (Canada), Janine was one of the 204 people to help set this record - Yes, she has the certificate to prove it, but unfortunately since then, the record has been broken.
